Special Education Requires a Lot of Education, Time and...

What if students with special needs had to sit in a classroom and try to learn like a normal student? The success of students would not be existent without special needs teachers. Special education teachers help students with disabilities fit in as best as they can by teaching them to do everyday things. These tasks can include brushing their teeth, going to the bathroom, and feeding themselves. Special education teachers put in a lot of work to create the best lifestyle for the students that they teach. Fourteen percent of the kids in the United States have special needs. Those fourteen percent need teachers to help them. Special Education requires a lot of education, daily work, tools, technology, and testing, but it is a very rewarding job. Special education can be a very confusing field and varies with the location and circumstances. Very few special education teachers work with students with severe disabilities (â€Å"Teachers-Special Education† 2). The majority of employ ees in the special education field work with mild to moderate disabilities (2). Most special education teachers work with students one-on-one in a normal classroom environment (2). There are a few teachers that work with their students in separate rooms aside from the student’s normal classroom (3). There are very few special education teachers that work in residential places, at home, or in a hospital (2). There are some teachers that work with a baby at home (2).
